I live in the Black Hole of Texas, more commonly known as Abilene. We have shirts for sale here that say “Keep Abilene Boring” but almost anyone you talk to will tell you in a heavy country accent that “it’s a great place to raise a family”. I am a paralegal for one of the oldest law firms in town. Have you seen the movie Two Weeks Notice with Sandra Bullock and Hugh Grant? That’s the best analogy I can think of to describe my job. When I’m not working or taking care of my baby boy (which is not very often), I enjoy cooking, eating, playing video games, watching baseball, playing volleyball and picking my split ends.

This is my husband, Daniel. Isn’t he handsome? I’m thankful for so many things in my life, but my husband is the greatest of these. We’ve been together since I was 16 and made it through all kinds of challenges. He’s creative, generous, hard working, patient and makes me laugh all the time. He’s also the best dad I’ve ever known. It’s my favorite thing about him.

And this is the best thing that’s ever happened to us: our son, Davis Ray. He was born April 5th, 2012 and our lives have never been the same (in the best way possible!). He is our pride and joy and our main source of entertainment. There is nobody we would rather hang out with. I have no idea what we did before he came along.

And these are the days of our lives in the West Texas desert…

Hope Davis got my note tonight from Memaw. I came by to see all of you but was disappointed when I found no one home. I returned yesterday from Austin and let Rita work today. She loaded up about seven more boxes for my garage and I have already gone through about five of them. More pictures and old papers. I borrowed about four more movies from you. I watched one while I went through boxes this afternoon. I have some real cute pics of Emme’s BDay. We had a lot of fun. Wish everyone could have been there. See you soon I hope. Love, Memaw
