Here’s Me! (on the right)…with Rachel. We’ve journeyed together as BFFs, sisters, through pregnancy and as new mommies. We decided to make it official and become bloggers together too. So here we are..
I’m presently a stay at home mommy. It’s pretty much the best thing ever. Scarlett is a little over 2 months old and not sleeping through the night completely, so it’s been nice having the luxury of sleeping in a little to make up for lost time in the night. Hopefully in the near future I’ll be working some on the side to help daddy out a bit. I’ve been a dental assistant for the last 10 years, but I feel like my days diggin in dirty grills need to end.
We moved to Phoenix last weekend. I’m a Texas girl, through and through, so it wasn’t easy saying so long to the Lone Star State and especially my family. Gotta do what’s best for the family though.
That “we” includes Me, Scarlett and my boyfriend Tim. Weird to say boyfriend when you have a kiddo with someone, but it is what it is. He’s an amazing guy. Full of honesty, integrity, love and all things you’d want in a man and father of your child. He works really hard and takes good care of his girls and we are so lucky to have him. The story of Me and Tim is a crazy one, with all sorts of highs and lows in a really short period of time, but it’s a story I wouldn’t change and I don’t need to exaggerate to make it better. He’s easy to love and I absolutely adore him. Tim works in production here in Phoenix doing lighting mostly..which is why we came back here. He loves the work and it was breaking my heart watching him come home from a job he wasn’t crazy about in Austin every day. It’s been great seeing him so happy even just the few days we’ve been here. Totally worth it :)…he’s also the most handsome guy I know. (See photo above)
Scarlett is the most precious, beautiful girl in the whole wide world and I can’t imagine life without her. She was born July 5th. It was tough and tiring those first few weeks, but I’ve loved every minute. I was born to be a mom I think. There’s nothing like it and nothing has ever made me so happy. She’s starting to coo a lot and she laughs at all my jokes. I kiss her cheeks way too much probably. My teeth have actually become sensitive and I think it’s because I have them clenched together so tight all day because of the level of cuteness I’m around constantly. It’s exhausting. Some of her favorite things are nursing, sitting propped up on pillows, and staring at light fixtures. She’s recently been gifted her first baby doll. She loves her and sucks on her pigtails mercilessly. Here’s a photo of Scarlett giving her the heimlich. We’re thinking doctor. Better start saving those pennies.
So I’m comin at you strong from the desert valley of the AZ. Good ol Phoenix. I was initiated into the city this evening with what they call a “haboob.” It’s this giant dust storm you can see coming miles away.
The first time you go through one it kind of feels like doomsday, but once it hits you realize that you’re not dead, but you did just waste 5 bucks washing your car today. Seems like a fair trade. This photo doesn’t do it justice but you get the idea.
