Despite a very fussy Davis, we had a fun weekend. Davis got to experience the West Texas Fair for the first time! He did some people watching (which I assure you is highly entertaining) while I sipped on the best lemonade in the world and shared a funnel cake with my friend Cassie. We went to a little cooking demo at the fair put on by the chef of our friend Ryan’s new restaurant, Abi-Haus that is going to be opened in the next couple of weeks. The food was ahhhhmazing. I can’t wait for them to open! Anyways, D is bored easily and so he got squirmy in the middle of the demo…my Dad (“Bald Pop”) offered to take him and walk around the art exhibit. He’s going through a bit of a separation anxiety phase right now. Sometimes if a stranger (or even a relative) just looks at him, he will bust out in his best pout. But, look! We experienced a small miracle when he let Bald Pop hold him for a long time. He’s so white in this picture that you almost can’t see him, hahaha!
Then we went to the petting zoo. I think it went pretty well.
We skipped church because Davis was inconsolable…pretty sure we have teething to thank for that. It was a rough day. When it’s not too hot and there aren’t any mosquitos in sight (please excuse my West Nile phobia), being outside can really calm the little fella down. I decided to change up his scenery and took him to the park where he did more people watching.
Naturally, his fussiest day ever was the day before Daddy goes on a business trip for 3 days. This is the first time we’ve been without him since Davis was born. Nervous? What makes you say that? This is right before he left us a few hours ago. We miss you, Daddy!
