D’s 5 month birthday was this week! He’s still a big ol’ boy, weighing in at 19 lbs 2 oz. He’s outgrowing all of his clothes and is getting more personality by the day. He rolls over almost as soon as you put him on his back and then scoots around or tries desperately to crawl. He’s got the right motions down, he just doesn’t quite have the strength in his arms yet. This frustrates him greatly. He is also getting pretty good at sitting up but he would much rather be standing up with my help and stomping his feet. Our pediatrician suggested that we start giving him a tiny bit of rice cereal in a bowl mixed with breast milk to help him get the hang of eating from a spoon. We did this the day he turned 5 months old and it was adorable. Here is a video:
Some not so fun developments this month include fits when it’s time to go down for a nap, an outbreak of eczema and the beginnings of teething. My favorite development this month is that he has started reaching out to be held. I had a couple of stressful days last week that were completely forgotten when those chubby arms reached out for me!
